First launched in 2017 by leading organizations in the democracy movement, including the Bridge Alliance, Big Tent Nation and the National Conference on Citizenship, the Civvys celebrate collaborative work that reaches across divides to build a better future and set an example for the rest of the nation. Nominees are evaluated by an esteemed review committee, comprised of leaders in civic engagement, politics, research and community impact.

The winners of the 2019 Civvys Awards represent outstanding examples of civic-oriented work that elevate democracy at every level of American life. The 2019 award cycle saw the highest number of nominees, making for a competitive selection process — and demonstrating the growing breadth and depth of civic efforts happening across the nation. Every day, organizations and industries are coming to realize that it is collaboration, not competition, that will allow us to move America forward, combine our strengths to do more and do better, and overcome partisanship and gridlock. The initiatives celebrated by the Civvys awards are leading the way, and we are so pleased to have a platform to highlight and commend their work!

During the award ceremony we will announce winners for the following categories:

National

Local

Youth

Committee Choice

We will also celebrate the 2019 finalists and honorable mentions, as well as our esteemed review committee without whom this work would not be possible.
